“Beauty is an experience, nothing else. It is not a fixed pattern or an arrangement of features. It is something felt, a glow, or a communicated sense of fineness.” -D.H. Lawrence

Hello friends! I trust that this message finds you well. I’m pleasantly surprised by the contentment I’ve experienced this winter. Initially expecting a struggle, as is typical for me during the long, cold Midwestern months, I’ve discovered a newfound love for romance novels, immersing myself completely in this new hobby. While I’ve always identified as a non-fiction enthusiast, this fresh obsession serves as a welcome distraction for my restless mind.

With at least a month of cold weather remaining before the promise of spring, I anxiously await the chance to resume my outdoor activities. Imagine me in my beloved rocking chair on the front porch, taking in all of my blooming peonies and roses in delightful hues of pink and white. The intoxicating scent of the flowers triggers a flood of nostalgic memories.

I’ve grappled with identifying my truest, most authentic self and concluded that at the core of my being, I yearn for a world beyond words—a beauty that can only be discovered through taste, touch, smell, sight, and sound.

On a more personal note, transparency has always been a guiding principle on this blog, and I intend to maintain that. Wrestling with the concept of “purpose” has been a constant in my life. Sharing the beauty I perceive in the world is a struggle, yet it’s what keeps my heart beating. I’ve grappled with identifying my truest, most authentic self and concluded that at the core of my being, I yearn for a world beyond words—a beauty that can only be discovered through taste, touch, smell, sight, and sound. No words, just pure feeling.

I’ve compiled an extensive list of topics I plan to share here, ranging from delectable food and breathtaking flowers to my passion for quilts, sources of inspiration, childhood stories, and more. I eagerly anticipate opening my heart further and connecting with you all on a deeper level.

In the meantime, here’s what’s been happening around here lately. Two lazy pets, lots of cooking and baking, and a major snowstorm last month! Until then, Holly
